Psycho-Social Factors Influencing to the SNS (Social Networking Service) Addiction Tendency among University Students

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of psycho-social factors on the SNS addiction tendency. Data were obtained from 709 university students and collected data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, stepwise regression. The main results were as follows. First, female, 20-21 years old, daily SNS use, more than 3 hours use of daily SNS, more than 3 hours constantly SNS use showed more SNS addiction tendency. Second, female, more numbers of SNS friends, more time of SNS use, higher depression, higher loneliness, lower peer attachment, lower perceived social support were significantly related to the SNS addiction tendency. Based upon these findings we suggested developing comprehensive intervention services of SNS addiction also develop effective prevention and treatment program of SNS addiction. The implications and limitations of these findings were discussed and directions for future studies were also proposed.
